“Solidarity for a better world II”
Project implemented through EEA Grants – (II) RO2014_C4_67 (NGO Fund 2, 2014), developed in partnership with the Apostoli NGO from Greece and IES from Șimleu-Silvaniei. This project was implemented during May – December 2015. The initiative proposed support for a group of children with disabilities through specific activities.
The project aimed at achieving 3 specific objectives: the first was to support and integrate into the community the group of 10 children with disabilities, the second – to develop adequate skills among the parents of these children and the last – to strengthen the capacity to provide social services of the APT association. The project was financed from the EEA grants 2009-2014 and had a total value of 38,542 Euros. Among the results of the project we would like to note that 12 children with special needs were assisted throughout their school and community integration process, 17 parents and personal assistants received support, 109 children with disabilities came to benefit from the facilities purchased through the project, a guide of good practices was drawn, 12 classrooms were equipped with educational materials (pictograms, maps, sensory books etc.), a team of volunteers was trained within the project, one TV appearance and 8 appearances in the local written media, 1000 guide-books “Parents of special children” were distributed to the community, a webpage updated on the social networks.
