”Childhood on asphalt”
It is a project running from October to November 2022, initiated and sponsored by Plai Transilvan Association. The project was realized in partnership with the Secondary School no. 11 from Oradea and the artist Alina-Cristina Ierugan from Oradea.
The idea of transforming the school yard into an attractive space belonged to our association and it came seeing that in the building on Ion Bogdan street in Oradea, at no. 13A, the children had no playground apart from the sports field. We proposed that instead of the grey asphalt, the courtyard should become colourful, the gate should become smiling and the school more welcoming.
After some research, we found out about Alina who has initiated beautification activities in the past in the parks of Oradea. Her project called “Childhood on asphalt” later took shape, became a registered trademark and spread throughout the country. Through the project, Alina aimed to paint 100 schools. We contacted her and so the school on Ion Bogdan Street became school no. 36 in the series of schools painted and transformed by Alina’s talented hands. Today, children enjoy every break from the educational and creative games painted on the courtyard paths.
